Lucky Penny Creamery specializes in crafting nutritious goat cheeses, produced with only the highest quality Ohio goat milk using no artificial preservatives.

True to artisanal standards,  their goat cheese is crafted by hand in small batches. Our value-added processing facility is an important connector from “farm to table” and an example of entrepreneurial agriculture as well as urban and rural economic development.

Their goat milk is free of free of antibiotics, pesticides, preservatives and bovine growth hormones (BGH). However, their farm and creamery are not certified as organic.

The goats you will find on their farm are Nubian, La Mancha and Alpine Dairy Goats,  their milk is used to make artisan cheese and produce a delicious caramel sauce, Cajeta.
"We believe in shortening the distance from farm to table and the smart utilization of urban and rural resources to this end. People should have a relationship with the land. Local foods are a pathway for developing and sustaining these healthy relationships.”

"As farmers and friends we will guide the journey from our pastures to your table."

Hartzler Dairy ~ Wooster, OH

All-Natural Glass Bottle Milk and Butter

How to Drink Hartzler Milk
"..The Cream Rises to the top"

Whether you drink it straight from the bottle (we won't tell your mom), or from a favorite glass, there's one thing you need to do first: SHAKE BEFORE DRINKING! That's because our milk is all natural and the cream rises to the top -- that's what makes our milk healthier and tastier than most!

Hartzler dairy provides old fashioned cream-top, hormone-free, milk in glass bottles. Their milk is produced only on family farms that do not use chemicals or hormones in their cows or their crops.

They  are not certified organic - but they have used organic practices in farming since 1964 and their products are all-natural. Hartzler Dairy also produces all-natural roll butter .

Superior Nutrition ...grass fed cows & unhomogenized milk make the difference!

Hartzler’s dairy cows graze freely in pasture and consume healthy, green grass during warm weather months. Milk from grass-fed cows has a higher content of vitamins and Omega-3s,as well as higher levels of conjugated linoleic acid, which have been found to have cancer-fighting properties. In addition, Hartzler milk is not homogenized, leaving milkfat globules intact to carry important nutrients like Vitamins A & D to the body.

Improved Digestion ...low-temperature vat pasteurization preserves enzymes.

Hartzler milk is enzyme-rich due to our low-temperature vat pasteurization process. These enzymes are crucial for digestion, as they assimilate nutrients into the body. Lactase, for example, converts lactose into energy and phosphatase assimilates calcium into our bones.

We are the only dairy in Ohio to pasteurize milk this way. Our process kills harmful bacteria, in compliance with FDA rules, without harming enzymes. Because of this, many people who have been diagnosed as lactose intolerant can drink our milk!

Milk Can Help with Weight Loss

The key to milk as a weight loss aid lies in its calcium content and the body’s ability to absorb this calcium. When the body does not get enough calcium, it begins conserving it. This mechanism prompts your body to produce higher levels of a hormone called calcitriol, which prompts the production of fat cells. Without milk and other dairy products, we send the body a signal to make more fat.

Calcitriol in high levels triggers fat cells to store themselves in the body and to expand. When we increase our calcium levels, calcitriol is suppressed and the opposite happens. Fat cells get broken down and digested and those remaining become smaller. A high-dairy diet can boost weight loss by about 70%.

Hartzler’s milk contains more of the enzyme phosphatase, which assimilates calcium into our bodies and therefore provides the best milk option for weight loss. Our milk has a higher enzyme content due to our unique Low-Temperature Vat Pasteurization method.

While skim milk is commonly thought to be healthier and better for weight loss, the milkfat needed to properly digest enzymes and nutrients has been “skimmed” from it. Whole and 2% milk is a better choice not only for weight loss, but because it carries far more health benefits.

The science behind milk and weight loss makes sense. However, milk cannot do the job alone. Calorie restriction, exercise and proper high-nutrition food choices should lead your weight loss efforts. Thankfully you don’t need to eliminate milk from your diet anymore.

Heirloom Beef Company

The owners of Heirloom Beef Company have dedicated their our lands to grass-based agriculture because it is the best way to produce food while improving and protecting the land. The grass holds the soil in place, gathers sunlight and moisture, and produces energy which is then harvested by cattle. The cattle return most of the nutrients to the land which is then used by the grass to grow more feed for the cattle - a cycle that continues through the ages.

Please visit their web site, it contains a wealth of information.
