Apple Country Farm Market - Spring Valley, Ohio

Apple Country Farm Market (ACFM) is a family-owned and operated business that offers a unique experience the whole family can enjoy.

Whether you're looking for fresh home-grown fruits and vegetables, seasonal products such as pumpkins and gourds, Indian corn, straw bales, Christmas trees, or unique craft items, ACFM has it all! And if you're looking for some down-home agritainment fun, you won't want to miss the Cornfield Maze Adventure open during the fall season!

Farmers Market Hours
Mid-May – End of October:
Monday -Saturday 10:00 – 6:30
Sunday 11:00 – 5:00

What We Offer:

Throughout the summer and fall seasons, ACFM visitors can shop for fresh vegetables including sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, beans, peas, melons, squash, zucchini, and pumpkins in addition to 30 varieties of apples. ACFM also offers other locally-grown produce such as red raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, plums, pears, and peaches.

Apples … they are what we’re famous for!

At ACFM, the apple harvest season begins in early September and runs through November. In addition to the large variety of apples we offer, ACFM also produces fresh cider from apples that are smaller, poorly colored, and less eye-appealing. To enhance the flavor of our cider, a special blend of apples is used. All apples are washed thoroughly before being ground and pressed to produce an all-natural product. No preservatives are added.  See our Apple Chart for information about apple types and uses.

Honey

Here at Apple Country Farm Market, we maintain our own bee hives to  produce for you the freshest honey possible. Our available honey  varieties change seasonally from apple blossom honey to pumpkin  honey.

Jams, Jellies and More…

On the main floor of ACFM’s Country Store,  visitors will find a large variety of delicious jams, jellies, preserves, apple  butter, pumpkin butter, relishes, salad dressings, Ohio syrups, Amish  noodles, and sauces.

Home to Registered Jersey Cattle and Grade “ A ” Raw Milk Cheeses

We are the 5th generation with the same cattle bloodlines. We milk intensive grazed, grassland, registered Jersey cows.  The barns are closed to visitors from November, to mid-April. All animals are bred and
raised on our farm. All of our milk products and facilities are licensed, tested, and inspected by the ODA and USDA, for public safety. We do not sell raw milk, only cheeses made from raw milk.

For more information about our cheeses please visit Buckeye Grove Farm Cheese at
wwwbuckeye grovefarmcheese.com

In the Dayton Area their cheeses can be found at Dorothy Lane Market
Please remember that we are a SMALL FAMILY FARM. Absolutely, no smoking, alcohol, pets or unsupervised children. Don't forget your camera as there is lots of wildlife in the area and breathtaking scenery. Our area is at the top of the US Scenic Roads list and only 20 minutes from the Wayne National Forest and the Ohio River.

We make authentic Farmstead-Artisan Raw Milk Cheese from Grade A Milk from our Registered Jersey Cows right here on our farm in Ohio, which give the richest milk of any breed!

What does that mean?
Raw Milk Cheese- milk not heated prior to coagulation. After coagulation, the curds and whey (which are no longer milk) are cooked to whatever temperature that is required for whichever recipe that is being made.

*Farmstead- cheese made solely from milk produced on the same farm.

*Artisan-cheese produced primarily by hand, in small batches, with particular attention paid to the tradition of the cheesemakers art, using as little mechanization as possible in the production of the cheese.

Very few cheesemakers are both Farmstead and Artisan, and we are proud to be doing both!

Products:
Peaches, Plums, Apples, Fresh Flower Boquets, Cherry & Heirloom Tomatoes, Peppers of All Kinds, Eggplant, Zucchni, Cucumbers, Potted Herbs, Brussels Sprouts, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Kohlrabi, Beets, Green Beans, Potatoes, Green & Dry Onions, Horseradish Root,

Loriridge Farm consists of 28 acres with about five acres dedicated to tree fruit and four acres planted in vegetables and cut-flowers. We use hoop houses for flower and vegetable production, and to start the approximately 20,000 transplants we use each year. Our other crops are alfalfa, red clover and rye, all of which are planted in rotation with the vegetables and flowers. This rotation allows us to naturally enrich our soil, increase organic matter, and aids in the control of weeds.

While we are not certified organic, we follow many sustainable farming practices such as crop rotation, plow down of green manure crops, composting, and integrated pest management.

We scout our fields and orchards daily, and apply the most environmentally and consumer safe controls only when needed.

We use organic approved controls whenever we can, and many of our crops are not sprayed at all.
